were can I pick up the original and for how much? I'm not shelling out oodles of money for a stratrpg I could play on my playstation and a crappy handheld.

If you don't mind getting the greatest hits copy, you can get it for $20 - $30 on Ebay.
Black Label goes for about $45. Otherwise I still see the Greatest Hits at Gamestop/EB on occasion for $20 new.

If you have a PSP, just get the PSP version.
To get a copy of the original, happy hunting? I don't know many places that carry PSX games anymore.

If you like this game, I recommend you take a look at Disgaea. This has also been ported to the psp recently.
Its like tactics, only far stranger.
Only bad thing is I got it before finishing tactics.
