Spore Confirmed for Wii & DS

Nintendo fans have a lot more to be happy about than just SSBB.

And the two articles that confirm it.

I always figured the Wii would be a perfect platform for Spore, but the fact that they barely touch on the PC version makes me worried. I've been looking forward to the game since I heard about it 2 years ago at the German gaming conference, but it sounds like it's finally wrapping up production. Earlier rumors that Spore would be released Q1 2008 sound justified now.

Well, we knew about the DS version almost since the PC version has been in development. The Wii version was the only new revelation. However, I am certain the Wii and DS version will use completely different assets from the PC version, so I really don't think they affected its release schedule. I think it just took Wright forever to make the game that matched what they wanted it to do.

I was really excited about that game when I heard about it for the PC. But then I realized that my computer would run that like crap.
I am really excited to hear that its going to be out for the Wii.   Hopefully it will at least be decent.

I heard it was coming to the 360 and maybe the ps3 as well? is this false? i don't care either way since i finally have a decent computer but it's good to know as much information as possible.

Anyone think its likely they'll do a mac version I can run natively on my pretty little macbook?
EA has been giving the Mac some loving recently so I feel its at least possible.

This is the only Spore thread I could find, what the balls.
It's coming out on September 7th, of this year. I am pre-ordering tomorrow.

yay! but what's this i hear about it not being available for 360 anymore?

not really a big deal but if i had a choice between PC and 360 i would definitely get it for 360.
gaming on PCs is a little much for me (too many buttons, not enough laying in my bed)

People say that spore will run really bad on their pc, but i'm honestly thinking it may not be so bad.  I mean, it's getting a port on the Wii, so certainly the PC version will allow you to scale back the graphics pretty well.
I'm almost certain that Will Wright will not let us down!

/I cannot wait for spore.  I saw the trailer on youtube before anyone was familiar and I spread the word of Spore to everyone I knew.  I think this is going to be the best game I've played in years.

Spore's by the same dudes that made The Sims. If it isn't scalable enough to work on my Commodore, it's not a Maxis product.

Nah, I work at an airport so I use the wifi to stream tv shows.  Right now I'm switching between Naruto and NewsRadio.

I read that you will be able to see statistics on how your alien is doing out in the internet universe. 
Make an extremely pacifistic, nice, friendly and ugly race.  I wonder how many times their planet is destroyed.  Really, it would be very interesting to see what planets survive and what planets are enslaved.
