Music Shames
Thrillho:
I also found Lennon's idealism less grating, because his opinion of the threatened late-sixties revolutions was 'there's no fucking point revolting if you're just going to replace it with shagging and LSD. Something new has to replace the old system.'
John Curtin:
I can't be alone in thinking that Morrison Hotel is a pretty unremarkable album? It's not really Doorsy enough; there's not much of a weird/dark underbelly. I mean I rate it above The Soft Parade, but hey at least they tried something a bit different on that one.
Strange Days, LA Woman and The Doors are where it is at. Strange Days is probably the best. Except for "Horse Latitudes". More like "Skip Skipitudes" amiritelol. Even American Prayer, in its entirety, is less laughable and more listenable than that track. But it is totally made up for by every single other song on the album.
BUT, I would say it's probably just best to listen to every doors album ever because they all tend to have quite a few very good songs, which seems to be more than enough these days for an album to be 'wicked cool', as the 'kids' are 'wont' to say these 'days'.
Lines:
I can't stand listening to Bob Dylan. Fantastic song writer, but I don't want to hear him play them.
About three years ago, I had only heard two Led Zeppelin songs and didn't care for either. Soon after, I heard When the Levee Breaks and loved it, so got more and I like them quite a bit now.
Kai:
Robert Plant is a slimy fuck
John Bonham man, he really sucked
Those greedy fuckers, those phoney shits
They made their money off idiots
I hate Led Zeppelin
12 dollar concerts were all the rage
They bought cocaine for Jimmy Page
"Stairway to Heaven" makes me see red
Bonzo's buried, only three more left
I hate Led Zeppelin
ImRonBurgundy?:
That song still has the power to piss people off. Case in point, just search for it on the iTunes Music Store and you'll find at least one user-created playlist made specifically in protest to it.
