Call of Duty 4
just-another-andy:
COD 4?
my god, me and a friend were playing it for roughly 4 days straight. I've never ever been a fan of FPS but this really changed my mind.
Nodaisho:
I don't bunnyhop, I don't think it is a good idea, as it slows you down after you land, but I will jump short distances from cover to cover, and will continue doing so, usually hitting prone before I land, so I don't have my head sticking out. Diving for cover is a tactic, it is from the "Don't get your head blown off" school of thought.

Running fast IS a tactic. Needless to say I didn't go back, a bit like the time an admin said I was getting kicked for abuse but then had to ask me to leave as the admin plugin was unpatched so he could do nothing :/
Some servers just make you not want to go back in.

I am rather sad Battlefield 2142 has more or less died an early death because I loved the hell out of it. Now all the servers are left, I was banned on from months and months and months ago for "swearing" or "cheating" (read: being better than the hosting clan) or some other bullshit reason.
Player-made rules ruin most games, if you ask me. In my books, I'd run a server as intended by the game developers. If it's allowable in the game and not a known exploit, then by all means! Play away.
clockworkjames:
If you want rules enforced, make a PAM mod for your server, restrict weapons, give everyone the same choices, only problem is you won't level up but then iut is still awesome.
Nodaisho:
I think the only rules on my clan's server for CoD4 are no bunnyhopping and no swearing, but they don't really enforce the swearing part, maybe that is just because I am in the clan, but I think it is just so that if someone is trollish with a name or constant swearing, they can kick him without making up rules on the spot.
