Well I saw Against Me! last night. That was fucking amazing. It is nice to know that they haven't lost touch in their musicianship too.
A local band, Smoke Up Johnny, opened the show. They were alright. Then this guy named Cory Branan came out with his acoustic. Fucking spectacular.
Against Me! even managed to play a lot of their older songs.

I saw Joanna Newsom with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra two nights ago. It was the best concert I have ever been to and probably will ever be to. Seriously, words can not describe how amazing it was.

i went to a hardcore weekender thing last weekend in my town.
the saturday night was pretty forgettable, unfortunately i missed saturday day due to having to work.
the sunday though was really good. a local band galled Bloody Gain opened things up and set the tone for the whole day really. Other bands that stood out were Abandon Ship, as it was their second to last show, and their last show outside their hometown, and Shipwreck, who were the best band of the weekend (they're from Boston, MA and a hardcore band, so they were about as thuggish as expected). Blacklisted finished things of with a pretty solid set aswell.
i'm seeing municipal waste this sunday with toxic holocaust. the 'waste are always great live, and toxic holocaust will be interesting as it's a one-man operation, not sure if he's bringing over a "live" band or what.

I'd cross my fingers and hope they do the same on Warped this summer, but that's still 6 months away and my fingers have other things to do.

From what I see the lineup isn't that great for Warped this year.
