I've seen Thrice a few times, the first time they ripped through 9 songs in half an hour, and the second time on their first headlineing tour, with a really good band called Vedera. Also CSS and Ladytron. CSS puts on a fun show.

MadassAlex:
Iron Maiden was basically the best show ever.

Lummer:
I saw Baroness this wednesday night..

Fuck, did it rule...

Spluff:
The two posts above me make me quiver with rage and envy.

O.A.R.:  Caught them in summer 2006, I believe, and it was one of the best nights of my life.  They're a hometown band who made it big, so when they come home they always play a great show.  However, they sold out big time with their latest album, so now their hometown shows are just like the others, in that they're playing what their manager wants them to to sell records, as opposed to what the crowd wants to hear.  I realize this sounds a bit odd, as record sales are pretty much the point of going on tour, but especially when your new music isn't very good, one would think that a band would play what the crowd wanted to hear.

VIRGIN FESTIVAL 2006

THE WHO: Fucking incredible.  People were just going nuts towards the stage, everybody in the audience was a fan, and there was just so much energy flowing from the stage to the audience that I could feel it from the back.  I was actually working a Red Bull stand by the DJ tent, and I still left like five times to go watch more of the Who (Pretty much I did this all day to go watch other people, and this is how I found out about Kasabian and Wolfmother, and saw a little Gnarls Barkley, but it wasn't very good).  For a buncha old guys whom one might think would have lost a step live (and probably have, for all I know) I'd still say it was a rpetty kickass show.

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS: I didn't see as much of these guys as I would have liked; I'll be honest, the majority of the show that I caught was after the DJ tent closed me and the people working at the stand closed it all up and stood on top of our stand so we could see the stage.  I left the stand once to go see them, but I couldn't stay for too long.  But, from the little I saw, it was enough.  These guys fucking slayed.  At this point, pretty much everybody left there was either too drunk to care about what they were listening to or so drunk they could barely stand, but everybody was still going pretty wild in the crowd.
