I've been wondering how that was spelt.
Also, make sure you do not miss Sonic Youth. They're just excellent. I didn't rant about how great they were when I saw them simply because I couldn't come up with a better way to describe the show than just excellent. There is no way I'm missing them next time they're near me.
Has anyone been to a Ladytron gig? How are they? They're playing in Perth in october and I think I really want to go.
Catacombs:
Last night I saw Liam Finn open for Eddie Vedder. Both were excelent. I'll wind up posting their albums in the mediafyre thread later.
Even though i was four rows from the very top, my seats weren't bad because it was a small theater. Finn played with a woman, and used a lot of looping machines which i thought was pretty interesting. He started by playing a drum beat, then got up, and while that continued to loop played a bass part out on his guitar, then while those looped started to play the guitar riff. He did similar stuff throughout his set, in different order. He's also an awesome drummer.
Eddie Vedder was great. Just him & a guitar, center stage. He did cover's ranging from Cat Steven's Trouble to Bruce Springsteen's Growin Up to Bob Dylan's Masters of War. He also did about half the Into the Wild soundtrack and some Pearl Jam Stuff. Played for about 2:15. One of the coolest things was the stories and Q&A stuff in between songs. The best was when someone in the audience yelled out "WHAT'S THE WORDS TO "YELLOW LEDBETTER?" Eddie thought that was quite funny. All in all great show.
Chesire Cat:
The three best shows/performances Ive seen were.
The Weakerthans headlining in support of Reunion Tour (NOT there Osheaga '08 performance)
Crystal Castles with Health, man I was totally depressed going into this show and didnt get drunk, but once they started boy did I dance
Chromeo (This one at Osheaga '08), these guys know how to be everything that is cool, and then drag the crowd into it and make them cooler aswell.
Id elaborate on all these but Im feeling a mite lazy.
Tom:
Eugh, Cut copy are kinda boring. Their albums are mostly boring and bland filler with three or four good dance-pop tunes.
imagist42:
I love their albums through and through, but when I go to their Austin show in September there had better be people dancing or I'mma make 'em dance.
