New genre of music: Coldplay
John Curtin:
How can you not "get" reggae? What's to get? It is the summeriest of summery music.

How's about we try to list some definitions for this new "Coldplay" genre? Like, how it's listened to mostly by middle-aged women...or something.
I'm sure we could think of other bands that would fit into this genre. I nominate Youth Group to start things off.
GenericName:
I wouldn't group Coldplay and Youth Group together, but I guess they are similar in sound. A little tiny bit?
Maybe the Coldplay genre could be more defined by the low quality of music, but high number of unironic listeners who seem to have been brainwashed into thinking the band is good.
*resists naming most classic rock bands*

You missed Keane and Travis, among others.

1 Sublime
2 U2
3 Coldplay
4 Rap
5 Jack Johnson
6 Pink Floyd
7 R&b
8 Rock
9 The Killers
10 The Beatles
Shame on you, Boston. I thought you had better taste in music than this.
Coldplay is kinda becoming a genre. Silverchair's new song is terrible (not that Silverchair really did anything good) and it sounds like Coldplay-lite. And Coldplay is already Radiohead-lite.
