The "Songs About Giant Isopods" Album
« on: 13 Nov 2007, 10:16 »

Um... there's a big thread on this at Drowned in Sound:

http://www.drownedinsound.com/articles/2561831

The gist is this:

Quote
Hello,

To highlight the plight of the Giant Isopod I am going to produce a limited edition cd featuring songs covering aspects of their nature.

Acts so far confirmed include Pagan Wanderer Lu, Pocus Whiteface & MC CrabbyCrab who will all compose original songs for the occasion.

All contributions/queries should be e-mailed to [email protected]

The compilation will be released on Bathynomuslove Records.

for inspiration look here:

and here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_isopod

thanks
rb/pwl

My band (Pocus Whiteface) are one of the acts submitting to this.

Anyway, I realise they have a special place here (QC gets a namecheck in there too) and thought I should give you all a heads up about it. If you want to be included I guess you can contact Andy (PWL).

Unfortunately the Doritos sponsorship didn't work out :(

Cheers
Theo

Man, now all we have to do is get Slint and Low on this album and Tommy's brain will rip in two and begin battling itself!

An unfortunate number.

Do not take this as a joke in any way, shape or form. There are a ridiculous number of Canadian horror-sci-fi films out there, mostly shot on a shoestring budget.

Hey, if it wasn't for low-budget Canadian horror films, My Bloody Valentine wouldn't be called My Bloody Valentine.

Ginger Snaps was low budget to begin with, but I still generally like it. Hell, it was my favourite movie for some time, I own all three.
