My band, Tinselfish.

We used to have me on drums and vocals, but I've decided to move to guitar and vocals as the music gets more experimental and freaky and such - we've had such a bad time finding a drummer, especially one with our tastes.

Actually, the scene here is pretty good.  But, you don't really want to come to Vermont for much else than the scenery, and country bar bands.

Well, actually if you want "indie" stuff, there are some really great venues here.  A cafe in the capital that frequently hosts local flavours as well as out of state bands that are mostly underground, but there haven't been any notable musicians to come out of the ol' Green Mountain State since Phish.  Although, I would keep an eye on The Year's Best.  They are pretty damn good.

There's this other band from here getting some notoriety called Waiting for a Miracle, but they're one of those new "emocore" bands or whatever.

I'm checking out their myspace. They seem to be extra-awful, as opposed to normal awful. You have my condolences.
Also I would like to point out that this band's vocalist is named Zak Ballad. Priceless.

imapiratearg:
He is a pretty shitty vocalist.

I just found out that The Year's Best have put up their new EP for download.  It's pretty good stuff.  Acoustic-centric indie folk/pop.

Patrick:
Don't even get me started on how shitty the scene is here. You have a choice between Balkan pop (fucking shoot me now), all the Metallica that I've ever hated, or shitty top-40.

Back home in my hometown in the Bay Area it's all adolescent boys crying over losing the girlfriend whose name they can't even remember because they've had so many since. Either that or you've got a choice of metalcore or screamo.
