@Jasper: I bought my Gibson SG new for $550. It's the best guitar I've ever owned and not ALL of them break at the headstock (I don't know if I'll ever stop crying about that, heh).

@Khar: even Brian May was known to use a Telecaster ("Crazy Little Thing Called Love" anyone?).

Most of what I'm seeing on eBay is in the $750-1,000 range. Nice guitars, though.
