Gene do they do shaves? Inquiring minds want to know

I usually end up going to the Astor Place barbers because well they're okay and reasonably cheap, but I've also been recently converted to just getting a good haircut done, and yeah... where is this?

71st and Lexington. I generally dislike the Upper East Side but it makes sense that they'd have a gentlemen's barbershop there and not in some hip downtown neighborhood.
Coincidentally, the guy who cut my hair has been doing it for twenty five years, and his first job was at Astor Place Hair during the heyday of the punk and rockabilly scenes there.

Thank you very much!

Hell yeah they do. Straight razor.
Ballard:
I've been considering learning to shave with a straight razor. I've tried pretty much everything over the last few years, tri-headed electric razor, disposable razor, Gillette Power Fusion with disposable cartridges and all of them irritate my skin and don't give me a particularly close shave.
While I'm a bit intimidated by the selection and maintenance processes, and somewhat afraid I'm going to slice my neck open, I feel like it would be a worthwhile thing to learn. Thoughts?
Ballard:
Actual olive oil? That sounds so crazy it just might work.
Has it had any effect on your pores?
Lummer:
Ok you guys. Something needs to happen to my hair:
