most of my jobs, people haven't really cared if you have a beard as long as it is well-maintained. even the big corporations out here in the PNW are like "fuck we cannot contain our manliness" and i've seen dudes with beards working at Safeway even though you're supposed to shave below the ear.

My boyfriend is having a very hard time finding a new job in a hotel because of his beard. He has been told by interviewers that he does not have the sort of look they want to project. At his current job he heard two of his supervisors arguing about his beard. It is a nice beard! It is full and he grooms it well.
I think everyone is just envious.
