Yeah, the secret to balding not looking terrible just simply to be aware of it and not resort to combovers. This is especially true since most guys look terrible with a buzzcut or shaved head.

How often are you shaving? A month seems like a really long time to go without switching blades. The rule seems to be that you'll get a week per blade if you're shaving everyday.
Also Stephen is right, the best look for a bald dude is confident awareness of the baldness. Own it, man.

I'm shaving every other day for the most part (if I'm in a big rush or out of town, I use disposables and cream), my beard grows slow enough that I can get away with it as long as I get it really clean looking when I shave. It also only grows along the jawline, goatee area, and the chin/neck for the most part, so it isn't like I'm shaving as much as someone that could grow a lumberjack beard would.
I'm using Wilkinson sword blades, which I've heard some people say are really dull normally, but I haven't had a problem. Maybe I just haven't had what else there is, but I don't cut my face with these, and they get the hair gone.
