Paav:
Going bald young is what it's all about. You learn who is a true friend and who likes you just for your hair. I would hate to have that happen later in life. Unfortunately, once you or others around you start to easily notice that you are going bald its time to go with the short hair cut. An inch or two is usually ok to begin, then shorten the length as your hairline continues its inexorable march to the back of your head.

I started to notice hair loss at about 18 and had to give up longer styles about five years later. It sucks but don't do anything drastic that would make you look ridiculous. Plenty of guys look good going bald and I have even met a few women you prefer bald men. So don't give up hope.

Facialy hair is always great. I got the winter beard in full effect.

Slick:
It is both. I really can't grow enough hair for it to be worth growing in, so I just keep it shaved. It's just ridiculously thin on top, which is a shame, because I've got an absolutely killer widow's peak.

jhocking:
When I get my hair cut the stylist usually has to thin it out because my hair is very thick.

ledhendrix:
I have the same thing. When i get my hair cut, it normally gets commented that my hair is some of the thickest they've ever seen.
