The Sunset Tree is the only Mountain Goats album I like.

The mountain goats have some AMAZING songs in their earlier discography, but I don't really know if there's a single real standout early album of theirs... But still, if you get a chance, or feel like torrenting some of the throwbacks, i suggest it.
The Sunset Tree is my favorite album of theirs. There is not a dull moment. It makes most of their other stuff sound like crap.
