Phobias.
Patrick:
Discuss your phobias, provide suggestions on how to get over them, etc.
If this becomes a list thread with a "Mine is more debilitating than yours" overtones, I will explode.
öde:
We already had a phobia thread like last month.
My phobia is being raped by the big black guy on the bus who told me he was a rapist and went to prison for four years. But not really because he's a lying kid.
I turn my fear into hate. Fuck insects! (not in a sexy way).
camelpimp:
Where do I start? I'm scared of everything. Honestly, I'm not sure how I manage to leave to house. I predict I'll be agoraphobic in a few years.
tania:
yeah, i recall this thread. ah well!
i am really terrified of molasses, cars and mold. there isn't really a way to get over these things. cars is a really tough one because it's something that is always going to be a part of my life. i never got my driver's license until very recently, and until then sort of let people laugh and think it was laziness when really i have just been absolutely terrified of them for as long as i can remember. i drove a car for the first time a few weeks ago and had probably the biggest panic attack of my life because i become absolutely convinced i would kill someone. in all honesty, though, i will vehemently argue against anyone who challenges me that being afraid of cars is WAY more rational than spiders or heights or dying or whatever. people die in car accidents all the time. they move really fast. they're heavy. it's fucking scary stuff. i guess with time my fear of cars will become easier and easier to deal with but i still aim to make them as small a part of my life as possible.
mold and molasses are somewhat easier to handle. i avoid mold by keeping my kitchen clean. i avoid molasses by staying the fuck away from molasses.
camelpimp:
^ Actually, I hate cars too. Driving is fucking terrifying.
And why are you afraid of molasses?
