Music from Scandinavia that ISN'T metal

(1/20) > >>

croove55:
Anyone here listen to music from Finland/Sweden/Denmark/Norway (despite what Weebl would have you believe, you cannot simply forget Norway) that isn't metal? I mean no offense to anyone who listens to black metal or whatever, but that seems to be the only type of music that anyone talks about from there. So, um... anyone? Baby Woodrose, or Sweatmaster, or Aavikko, or something?

IronOxide:
I'm From Barcelona.

I'm From Barcelona

I'm From Barcelona

So, uh, hey, that's good news, right?

IronOxide:
I'm gonna sing this song with all of my friends
and we're I'm from Barcelona
Love is a feeling that we don't understand
but we're gonna give it to ya

We'll aim for the stars
We'll aim for your heart when the night comes
And we'll bring you love
You'll be one of us when the night comes

Baby Woodrose is boss.  And it surprises me that you didn't mention Dungen.  Dungen is excellent.

Also, Finland produced Circle and Pharaoh Overlord, both of which are magnificent.

While we're at it, the whole Swedish fuzz/stoner/doom thing (Dozer, Lowrider, Spiritual Beggars, Grand Magus, etc.) is awesome.  I guess you could call it "metal," but you'd be wrong.  Brain Police (from Iceland) is really good too.
