I know people use gabbly because it is easier than irc or whatever but it might be preferable to many people or perhaps I should not post without giving this "gabbly" a try.

IRC is always there. Almost... and if not there is always other servers and channels but then you might not find people like the #qc ircissians on them and that kinda means they suck.

Everytime I think I will give IRC a chance I go in there and realise I hate half the people that use IRC, sorry.

Every time I go into IRC it is either dead quiet, or talking about computer-y stuff that I don't get. And they go on about my name because of Discordia. Gabbly is more interesting, so yeah.

I was really just suggestion it as something to curb the withdrawal symptoms of no gabbly.

A bit like replacing a pot addiction with crack. Yeah maybe not such a good idea.
