Apparently they enhance the whole beer experience. I don't know about that, but they do look cool.

God that stuff is awful. And expensive. My friend insisted on getting them when I bought a round, and basically I paid a stupid amount to have my taste buds assaulted by his complete lack of sense. Dick.
