On a not completely unrelated topic from the pie race, I baked pies! For the first time ever, and completely from scratch. At one point I realised we don't actually own a rolling pin so I had to roll my pie crust dough with an empty beer bottle! I am a classy lass. The pies were delicious.
Beef pot pie! It was quite delicious, although it needed more salt and pepper. It is happy to be created.
Apple caramel pie. Oh my god. This was absolutely fantastic! (it just looks gross because when the boy took it out of the tin he dropped it on the tray and it smooshed)
