I haven't been to a hostel either, but even if it is decent, I'd rather bake them at home. Then I don't have to worry about not having enough pans, bowls, ingredients, etc. Besides, I'm doing this the day before I leave, so they'd still be fresh when I got there.

My one hostel experience was unusually horrible, so I'm biased in the other direction. I mean hell, it was in the red-light district in Amsterdam.
