Thats funny, I was gonna build a new comp after taxes come back, and thats the case I am going with.
For now I just have two stock computers, a Sony Vaio desktop, and a Toshiba Satellite laptop.
Teh Geek Lord:
The case is great, I would recommend that you use it, I have had no issues with it. Its tad loud with the fans at their highest settings, but at either med or low the sound is fine, but thats only if sound is an issue.
If your building one, this is a case to get
Dimmukane:
Case: Enermax Uber Chakra (This monster has a 10 inch fan)
CPU: AMD FX-74 (3.0 GHz, 2x1MB L2 Cache)
Mobo: The only FX-74 mobo there is, it's an Asus, can't remember the name, but I can say it has two CPU sockets and 4 PCIx16 slots.
RAM: 2Gb DDR2-800 Mushkin
PSU: BFG 650-Watt
Video Card: PNY 7900 GS (once I get my tax returns, I'ma get an 8800 GT 512MB, maybe two)
Hard Drives: 160Gb, 120Gb, 80Gb, first two are Seagates at 7200.7 RPM (lowest seek times possible for a SATA drive), and the 80 is a Western Digital.
Monitor: 22" Westinghouse that I got on sale for $180
Keyboard: Microsoft brand, but it's actually my favorite part about the computer. Quiet keys, good response, and it has a calculator button.
I use it for pretty much everything.
Calaveth:
Case: Lian Li. Can't recall the model.
Mobo: Asus A8V. It's got a few years on its neck, but still mostly functional. I had to get a separate sound card though, something wrong with the onboard sound.
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 Processor 4000+
RAM: 2 GB DDR
Video: GeForce 6800 Ultra
Harddrives: Five, from 120 GB and up to 500, a total around 1.5TB. It's a mix of Western Digital and Samsung disks.
The PSU was expensive, but darn if I can remember what brand or model it was.
Keyboard: The crappiest keyboard Microsoft ever produced. It's a stop gap before I get something I actually like.
Mouse: Logitech MX Laser. I love it.
OS: Linux/Ubuntu.
If I was playing more games on it, it would be time to look for something better, but as primarily a multimedia unit it perform its job admirably. World of Warcraft is no resource hog, so it works quite well. I've considered getting a new gaming rig, but I'm not sure I game enough anymore that it would be worth the investment. Might be cheaper to get a console for that purpose. I feel somewhat dirty just for saying that...
