Heroes of Might and Magic Kingdoms
« on: 13 Dec 2007, 13:53 »

Ubisoft just announced that they will launch an online, browser-based Heroes of Might and Magic game in early 2008.

Apparently it's both persistent and free to play, which is awesome but I have to assume that means it will be ad-supported.

I think this sounds totally awesome, but I'm still reading what the website says about the gameplay. It says 'play at your own pace' which is a little nebulous to me. The way I see it, they could do this one of two ways: you'd get a set number of turns for an allotted period of time (5 turns a day or whatever), or you can play as much as you want and they'd create separate realms for people who want to play a lot and people who just play occasionally.

Point is, free to play online Heroes game. If they implement this concept well this could be completely amazing.

Also I would like to point out that the combination of Sailor Moon and faux-Kerouac / Sonic Youth spelling is perhaps the purest distillation of what this forum is that we have yet been presented with.

Yeah, that sounds like something to keep an eye on.

Maybe I'll play some of yous when it comes out. I don't think I'm any good, but hey, free game.

The beta's out, for anyone that has HOMM complete.  I'm really looking forward to this game; HOMM5 was a huge letdown for me.  "Gameplay?  What do we need gameplay for?  Our game is PRETTY." it had so many good ideas, too...

anyways, I'm trying to get my pannic account working, but if it's a lost cause, I'll be on there as nightmarestop.

I don't think HOMM Complete is available outside of Europe, for some bizarre reason.
