Well, not until now, as I don't know crap about timing, which is essential if you want a good hairdryer solo!

The one time I attempted doing stuff with timing, it did not end well.

Then again, instead of being in say, 4/4 or 6/8, I went with "play a chord every thirty seconds".

Okay so needs moar hairdryer. Got it. Should I run large motors next to the pickups of my electric guitar with the distortion all the way up?

Yes. And rig the motor's speed to the envelope of the signal you're getting out of your guitar too.
