Who else listens to Tenacious D?
Indifferent Clox:
You can still mail me some cool indie clothes if you want.

--- Quote from: Hat on 02 Feb 2008, 12:36 ---As for Flight of the Conchords, I just don't get it. I can't get it. I don't find it funny, I don't get why other people find it funny, it just doesn't seem to have any *pop* to it, its just missing something I want from that kind of music
--- End quote ---
The actual show is considerably funnier than most of their songs, to be fair.
That said, you don't even find this one funny?
bbqrocks:
I was prepared to post back with a sarcastic cynical comment but that was hilarious.
RedLion:
Their first album was hilarious and refreshing. Their newer one, the soundtrack to "The Pick of Destiny," is..atrocious. The first album wasn't solely potty humor, it had wit and life to it. "Destiny" is basically just "Fuck you, motherfucker!"
However, I find Jack Black to be funny--in limited quantities.
Flight of the Conchords and Tenacious D aren't really all that comparable. Their style of humor and music are both vastly different.
Spinless:
I've seen some pretty terrible songs by Flight of the Concords, but I also saw two that were nothing but pure genius. I'm not a fan, but these songs were absolutely fantastic. The right amount of delightful, funny, charming and witty.
The first was a song about a man who passed a woman in the park named 'Jenny', and the throughout the song she is telling him about the last time they met while he tries to remember her.
The second was a song about David Bowie, preceded by a story about the band traveling back in time and impressing him with his own songs.
Tenacious D don't compare. They're hilarious at times, terrible at others, much like Flight of the Conchords, but it's a completely different brand of humour.
