Now that that's out of the way, I am constantly amazed at the insensitivity of people I otherwise consider to be quite smashing. I am less worried about rape jokes that are obviously jokes than I am about people casually dropping it into conversation. I came across it a lot when I was playing an MMO in a guild. I got the wonderful experience of seeing people I was working with at the time who were absolutely lovely people explain to me how they got together with so and so and gang-raped this or that mob. Even "murder" or "beat the fuck out of" would have been perfectly reasonable things to say under the circumstances. Another example would be to say that a powerful item "rapes". "Oh yeah, I got this Sword of Swordening last night, it totally rapes". Since when was raping considered a good thing, you fucking cockspank?
Also, thank you to those who were trying to veer this flaming bandwagon toward "useful conversation" territory.
