Dude I'm always nice.

Spluff:
Okay, this page is quite possibly the most bewildering and/or scary thing I've read on these forums so far.

But on the topic of post rock, can anybody name some good melody driven post rock bands/songs (think "Radio Swan Is Down - Part 1" with it's awesome opening)?

onewheelwizzard:
Spluff, I uploaded a song by sgt. to the Forced Listening thread that might be up your alley.  The link's still good and it's my only post on that thread.  If you find it and like it I'll upload the album to the mediafire thread.

Töys:
So I'm listening to 'This Will Destroy You' and what immediately strikes me is how similar the main riff of the first song (A Three Legged Workhorse) is to a Múm song from 'Finally We Are No One'.

I have no idea if this has been brought up before or if it's a homage, just struck me as kind of strange.

'K-Half Noise' is the Múm song I'm referring to, you can listen to it here http://youtube.com/watch?v=XzyOsmFBN-k .

TheFuriousWombat:
I neglected to mention Sandro Perri's solo work, notably that under the Polmo Polpo moniker. Released by Constellation (the Do Make Say Thin, Silver Mt. Zion, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Hrsta, Fly Pan Am and several others), the album 'Likes Hearts Swelling' is an album I would call a masterpiece without any hesitation. A rolling, fuzzy haze of sound with strings spilling in and out amongst the noise, this is certainly one of the better ambient albums in my collection. I'd be happy to upload it if there's any interest.

I know I mentioned Xela before but his album 'The Dead Sea' is probably the best avant-garde noise album from the past couple years. Could up that as well if anyone wants.
