Spring Break! Hooray! (No Boobs)
Liz:
That does make sense. Perhaps I can gather some people tonight, maybe tomorrow. We shall see.

Hey! That's about half an hour from where I live. You should have stopped in Janesville.
Anyway, it looks like I might be headed to North Carolina for spring break. Not really an ideal spring break location but..better than southern Wisconsin, that's for sure.

I don't get a spring break this year. I finish my last class the week before spring break, and then instead of taking spring break, I have to go to an externship and work 60+ hours a week for three months at slightly more than minimum wage. The upshot to all this is that when my externship is over in July/August, the $8000 or so in stipend money that my is refusing to give me now comes to me lump sum. I will definitely use said money for a vacation. Thailand or Malta if I can beat monsoon season, France and Italy if I can't.

That is exactly where I'm spending spring break. I am going home to play in the snow in March, because snow was pitifully lacking in NYC December-February!
Also, holy crap, Janesville. I've been there!

So I keep hearing more and more about externships, but no one seems to know exactly how they differ from internships (including Wikipedia, apparently). I'm starting to think that it's just that the word "externship" has fewer corporate connotations. Do you know?
