And now, its time for a pick-me-up thread

(plus the old guy will probably die before the kid, though I suppose they could take his wheelchair and give it to someone else..)

KharBevNor:
Hey guys.

Guess why there's a lack of basic medical technology in Iraq.

Next post: I'll tell you how many children died unnecessarily in Iraq during UN sanctions.

Lines:
Hmm, considering Dissy wanted this to be a cheerful thread and at least most of us know, how about we don't go there, ok?

As for more feel good stories, I'm very glad that Amenah Al-Bayati has recovered. Her and her mother will be returning to Iraq though, so I hope they and the rest of their family stay safe until this whole mess is over.

Rizzo:
Lets all pat ourselves on the back and congratulate ourselves on a job well done. Or we could do the right thing, obey the forum rules and not discuss politics.
This is an inherantly political topic and I suspect mods won't be keen on some of us getting up in arms about it.
So, take it to Aurostion or Quiki and we can discuss it there.

Sox:
We're not all members of the quiki or Aurostion, nor do we all have the time to split between multiple forums. Nobody has really gone out of their way to start a topic on political debate here, they just sort of happened, and they happened in a very civilised manner with people on both sides of the fence presenting their opinions in a sensible and non-inflammatory fashion.

Don't you know, the first result I got for a google search of the term "good news" was about cutting the risk of cancer through a simple daily exercise.
