Okay now that I would like to see, any chance you could share some of those minitures with us? (Through the medium of photography of course!).
I'm always amazed at conversions, my attempts at any type of conversion are (well were) painstakingly hard and I only suceeded in transforming five into tortured carcasses (Out of 19 I used) the failed models I decided to cut up and use as bits as decor.
So my work took about a month, and it didn't look too bad. I just cringed whenever I messed up carving one of the minitures. (Instantly saw my money flicker away)

Personally, I believe in simple conversions, done well, but occasionally I branch out:
Converting Questing Knights
and Modelling Myself

It was the guns that were a pain to make, imagine using green stuff epoxy to turn a lasgun into an m4 carbine.
They were messy and reside in my dads loft(attic) but I go to see him the weekend of the 10th which is next weekend, I'll see if I can rake them out :)
Border Reiver:
Converting any weapon with a pistol grip into a weapon with a straight stock is likely more trouble than its worth. Making them into tommyguns would be easier.
clockworkjames:
Tommy guns... in CS:S that would be b3...9?
I wanted to stay true to the game, will look them out on Sunday if I have a chance.
