My "Craft" (painting miniatures)
Jace:
like that you need to base them :0
clockworkjames:
So yeah I just went on ebay and got a bunch of unopened plastic jungle fighters.
Gonna rebuild my 2k point army with more insight than that of the 12 year old that built it first time round, seriously what was I thinking?
mat_mantra:
Meh, I'm just doing a quick and dirty job on them for now. I'll worry about the bases later.
Border Reiver:
Here's a couple of tips:
a. The job may be "quick and dirty", but that shouldn't mean messy. Your paint brush slipped a few times, go back and fix the slips;
b. Thin your paint a little when you paint, as there is some clumping in your reds. Red and yellow paint are infamous for not having a lot of pigment in the solution, so this will likely mean multiple layers;
c. Smooth finishes look good, even if you don't paint highlights and shadows, a neat smooth finish still looks good. Strive for it on all of your models. We're not all Golden Daemon winners, but we can all strive for neat models.

Part of the problem is the wash i use. It's a quick and easy way to bring out depth and fill in some holes, but the darker pigment tends to stick around, and it dries pretty quick as well, which means sometimes i get a little more shading than i bargained for. Still, whats a good mix for the red? 90/10 paint/water? less or more?
