Garfield Minus Garfield

<< < (10/11) > >>

Evander:
This one brought back memories of Tardy the Turtle, from the Greg the Bunny Show:

Roivas:
Personally I find this new psychopathic John easier to relate to and a lot more humorous. I doubt Jim Davis even cares anymore about his cash cat so sending him suggestions will be about as useful as throwing a written letter out the window.

"I found a quarter in the dryer!"

bicostp:
Doesn't it seem like Garfield is becoming less and less necessary to the strip? All of these came form the last month or so.

EDIT: I just realized the Garfield Minus Garfield site already did some of these. These aren't their pics, though. Just a coincidence.

JediBendu:
I can't believe so few people have realized that taking out Garfield or his thought bubbles doesn't necessarily heighten the humor by making Jon schizophrenic and pathetic, it's just taking out Garfield's unfunny internal dialogue with himself. The strips already have Jon talking to a pet that doesn't talk back to him, Jon has always been schizophrenic and pathetic.

bicostp:
Of course Jon has always been schizophrenic. Removing Garfield (either just his thoughts or entirely) cuts the reader off from that perspective, making Jon's mental issues, rather than a sarcastic cat, the prominent aspect of the comic.

Aside from that, editing comics is fun when there's nothing else to do. :D
