Ridiculous Decadency

See, I would say the dude in the orange pants is the best dressed that I posted, and one of the best that's been posted on that site in a while. The contrast in colors and patterns, unified by small details like the tie, the belt, the whatever he has in his pocket, creates a completely eyecatching look that is still totally distinct from anything you'd typically catch on the street. The point is that he's fashionable because he's pushing boundaries, because he's not just putting together a 'fit that just plays to what is in fashion, but rather has assembled a super classy look out of completely dissimilar items of clothing. It's fuckin baller.
Also, if you think things only look "cool" because people say they are, then you're being kind of ignorant. Everything that is considered cool is considered cool because someone says it is. Cool is a completely socially constructed thing, it doesn't exist in a vacuum, so why does it matter which "certain group of people" call something cool?

Well I don't see any blue in that outfit; I see a lilac shirt, and a purple jacket with orange trousers.
And I agree with Khar I think it looks ridiculous. I appreciate that the guy is doing something unique and setting himself away from the crowd but that does not necessarily make the outfit attractive. But admittedly I know nothing about fashion, my style, as much as I have one, is fairly run of the mill trainers-jeans-tee shirt, unless I'm wearing a more dressy look for going out whatever.

I'm just saying that to me the guy looks like he only has the vaguest idea of how sane people dress themselves. Seriously, from my point of view which is completely different and separate from anyone else's point of view, the dude looks like a fucking shithead.

Okay, yes, the shirt is lilac, but the jacket is navy blue. Maybe a blue violet.
Either way I think it looks good.
