I hear you, but every now and then there are some real gems.

Narr:
What the fuck IS an enchilada?

Because this is not hipinion, and we are not Vice magazine reading cocksockets?

Maybe?

I mean seriously, Vice Magazine is like going to a party, and you go outside for a smoke, and you somehow get stuck talking to this absolute wanker in a loud hoody and silly little beard who desperately wants to tell you how much cocaine he has snorted this evening.

onewheelwizzard:
I can see your point, but my first exposure to the Book of Do's and Don'ts made me laugh until I came close to peeing my pants (and then I ran to the diner bathroom and "for a good tim" was written on the wall which made me laugh even harder) and it's a rare one that makes me laugh out loud nowadays but I still have a soft spot for them.  The enchilada one is priceless no matter what.

Firstly, those sell watered down two seasons old looks anyway, you'd be better off with Harpers. Second, well I can't explain it, so everyone go to this website.
...

Is basically art, in my mind. But it's art that every day, they get up and create. They wake up and put together something that works completely perfectly and they can feel good about it, and other people see it and say "oh shit look at that guys outfit" and that is just badass, I guess? I don't know how to explain it, really, but still.

Yeah, I agree with you. Fashion is a dynamic thing, and the people who design and manufacture clothing are necessarily behind the times. Fashion has a currency that requires the synthesis of a lot of diverse phenomena that goes beyond just dressing like someone else. The most fashionable people are creating fashion as they go, perhaps in a pseudo-evolutionary process.

At the same time, that kind of sensibility is rare and for most people, it's all they can do to just look contemporary, much less good.
