Yeah, but he's going to be commuting by motorcycle, so paying lots for something to help him not die seems like a good call:) I want to return mine for a less expensive flip-up style helmet anyway, since I only ride passenger and occasionally at that.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that spending as much as you can afford to on motorcycle helmets or armour is good plan.
