Ridiculous Decadency
tania:
clearly i either buy too much american apparel clothing or not enough! I've already had one sweater and a couple of t-shirts fall apart. another sweater i bought in september is starting to show a lot of loose threads here and there. considering both sweaters were ~$80 i am kind of disappointed. i should probably learn from this but no, their clothing is so pretty. i always go back. i suck.
i have never had any problems with american apparel underwear and will justify my many expensive purchases with the (obvious) reminder that briefs are so much sexier than thongs, you crazy women.
TheFuriousWombat:
Although difficult here at school since there's really no where to go out to eat, at home I spend far too much money on food. I also pay ridiculous amounts for rare vinyl but various artists whose complete vinyl output I really want even though I almost never, if ever, listen to them. I sometimes splurge on Amazon and buy a bunch of books and a handful of Criterion DVDs only to spend the next couple of days crying over the $350 I no longer have.
Nodaisho:
Probably my hundred dollar graphics card even though my old one was still working just fine, I wanted to be able to turn up the graphics higher for the Orange Box.
Yeah, just a hundred dollars, but I am 16, so I am poor, I only work sporadically, and can only spend half the money I make, I force myself to save most of the rest.
Lunchbox:
Looking around my flat, I can't see all that much that's silly or decadent. I did buy a pair of $180 Guess sunglasses at the start of Summer which I have only worn once because I wear spectacles, not sunglasses, silly bint. I generally shop at cheap places for my clothes and the most expensive, stupid items I have are my $140 Roxy jeans and my Doc Marten boots which are now 6 years old and need resoling.
The silliest thing I have spent money on are my Doctor Who and Torchwood box sets. $400 of DVDs, but I watch them lots and absolutely adore them, so it isn't really a waste.
What I do waste money on is just random food articles or little gadgets for the house that I don't really need, but I put in my trolley because they are interesting.
Oh um and hairdressers' visits. Once every few weeks. Costing up to $180. Probably should stop doing that.
