The gameplay looks ridiculously fast, the graphics are beautiful, and I can't find any characters in those screenshots except for Sonic and Robotnik.

Has Sonic Team figured it out? Have they realized that a blisteringly fast 2.5D Sonic without piles of anime bullshit characters might actually be a good game?

I have high hopes for this one. I just hope it's nothing like the abomination that plagued the Xbo360 and the PS3 last time. Heck, the Wii one wasn't all that great either.

360 and PS3....blegh.  The only hope I have for Sonic is a good Wii version.  The one they released for the Wii, Secret Rings or something wasn't great, but it wasn't as bad as Sonic the Hedgehog for the 360.  I wonder how they're going to make the gameplay fun for this. The Wii would have great motion-sensor stuff, but I could imagine it getting kind of boring for the Xbox.

It's confirmed Wii60 thus far. That video is the 360 version, though.

Looks pretty good, but you know how it is with trailers. They made Garden State look like a good movie, they can make a bad Sonic look like a good one. But there's no shame in honest hope. It'll certainly be nice to play a Sonic game again.
