Graphics Tablet?
Spluff:
You look at the screen, it usually takes a bit of practice to get used to.
They usually come with software (adobe elements, etc.), and the driver is free. Most decent graphics programs can use it's capabilities.
It depends what you are using it for to say whether it is better or not, but on average I'd say it's better. You can produce much better final products with a tablet - theres definitely reasons that all the professionals have swapped over.

Fantastic, I shoudl look into it, at the moment im still on my musical creative stage, i'll soon come back into my drawing creativity again, I rotate around, need to look into movie making. But I would love to draw and perhaps colour (Although need experience, i've not coloured in YEARS!, litterally I haven't coloured for almost 3 years now. I am a black and white pen drawer, I get my friends to colour for me since well I lack confidence.

They're cheap enough now, and drawing with a tablet gives you much better results than mouse drawing does.
I picked up a Graphire4 for $100 on sale a couple years ago. It does what I need it to well enough. (That is, doodle and retouch pictures.) I think the Bamboo is basically the same thing. A Cintiq would be awesome, but they're pretty expensive. (They're glorified touchscreens with pressure sensitivity.) For now it's simple enough to get a similar result by aiming a VGA video projector at the Graphire.

I've actually been looking into the possibilty of modding a regular wacom tablet and lcd monitor into a cintiq. It doesn't seem like its that complicated... and it also seems like its easier with an old laptop, but I don't wanna break one of those.

I remember seeing something like that on Hack a Day a while ago...
EDIT: Found it.
