--- Quote from: öde on 30 Mar 2008, 16:09 ---Okay, it seems I didn't really state my stance clearly enough. I am not really attracted to people's bodies most of the time. I appreciate a nice arse, fun little tits, or a toned stomach or whatever but it doesn't make the leap to sexual desire. It certainly helps, but it doesn't mean shit to me if I don't like someone's personality.

This. "window shopping" (if you want to call it that - it's a bit of a vulgar term really) is nice and all, but there's a long stretch between that and real desire for a person.

I have a friend who wears those t-shirts purely so that people will look at her chest and she can hit them. Or so she says.

It's quite interesting, I conducted a very informal unscientfic survey last year (for "survey" read "discussion involving two bisexual girls and three straight guys") and discovered that in general, guys are much more attracted to breasts than girls who like girls. I suppose it's because girls usually have their own breasts, so they know how bloody annoying they can be. I spend far too much time and money buying bras that fit, and then I still have to cross my arms if I run down stairs or gravity takes over. Yay for physics?

women can go topless in new york too. the court also suggested in that case that the way women are forced to cover up their breasts probably helps contribute to north america's bizarre obsession with them. it makes a lot of sense to me but after maiada's point about how women in italy are also very objectified i don't actually really know what contributes to it.

you still never see anyone topless in guelph though, which is kind of depressing. personally i am tempted every single ridiculously hot summer day but i'm afraid of being ogled and/or shouted at by old people. i'm guessing most other women have similar reasons.
