Dam, I read this comic too much...
« on: 17 Jun 2008, 23:55 »

I just realized that I started reading this Questionable webcomic when its latest "issue" as it were, was Comic 299: A Jaunty Chapeau.  I've often wanted to be a part of a cultural movement from its early days, and there's no doubt that Webcomics are a cultural movement; the idea that someone with enough free time, hard work, and determination can make a living off drawing comics, or writing about music, or both!

Anyway, I'm interested now: when did some of you people start reading QC?  Like, what was the newest comic you started reading at?

Comic 691

I went there from a mention in Unshelved.

Comic 186

I feel like, as I look back on it now, that comic sure sums up quite a lot about the relationship between those two. Also, as I look at it again, it's a hilarious comic to first read, in my opinion. Also, I realize I have been reading QC for quite a long time.

Linked to QC from Diesel Sweeties, I believe.

I don't remember the number, but it was the comic when Raven got the Kanji tattoo.

I think I was linked from Rob and Elliot. Or Nothing Nice to Say.

637 - I was doing a search on John Cage.  Since I'm also somewhat into Free Improvisation, this caught my attention.

664.

I know because I read it over the course of a weekend (along with Girl Genius) an then posted the metal interlude elsewhere as an example of one of the new comics I was reading.

Holy hell, I didn't realize it'd been that long!

936 for me.

Which is strange, because that was a guest comic. RK Mulholland's guest strip got me reading the archive. The rest is history.

I started (from comic 1 of course) at the time when Dora was finding out about Sven and Faye's night together. The comic in particular where Dora and Faye tell Raven that Dora's jealous because Faye and Marten went to the zoo together. Hahaha. I was so confused, but I love this comic now and have since reread most of the archives at least twice.

I forget when I started reading.  Not long after 500, though, because I remember reading at least some of that arc as it came out.  I got linked from Dr. McNinja.

I looked through the archives for like half an hour and could not figure out what the number was.

But when I first started reading, it was at the one where Hannelore thinks she's pregnant and goes to Marten for guidance or whatever.

I've honestly got nooooo clue. About three years ago, but I have no recollection as to what was going on. It was a few months or so after the "What Happened To Faye to Make Her So Nuts" arc. I remember reading it with a friend, who got ahead of me and was like, "Yeah, it's really funny but it takes kind of a sad turn," and I was like, "Aaaah, don't tell me that!".

Comic #746: Yet Again http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=746

To be specific, this is when I started reading the comic, and then went back and read the archives. I had visited several times before, but dismissed it as yet another comic wherein one character tells another to sleep in a pile of ladies.

I started reading during the late 300s, early 400s. I've gone back through the archive yet I can't remember exactly when.

I looked at the latest comic and thought, "Hmm, the art here isn't to bad". When I clicked that first strip link, hoi...

I was hooked after the first 50 really and stayed with it since. I only recently joined the forums because I'm a lazy bastard and couldn't be arsed.

You're all a bunch of Johnny-come-latelys.

I remember thinking of Ellen as 'the new girl,' and laughing at Marten's line in the first strip that had Faye's sister in. I was confused by the cameo in that arc too, because I had no clue what Diesel Sweeties was at that point.

I can't give a number or date. I barely remember what I had for breakfast yesterday.

If pressured I'd say maybe 100-ish.

And yeah, I know I just started posting recently. I was a truly prolific lurker. Some might even say epic.

I started reading on april fools day, when jeph got together with xkcd and some other webcomic that i don't read, and made the links go to the other comics.  so needless to say, i was expecting to read one xkcd, and found myself spending hours trying to catch up on the QC.  I'm loving it.

I think I started reading at the one where Martin says, "Your daughter has put my penis in her mouth," or something or other.

My friend posted it in his blog as something he thought was funny, so of course I have to read it, laugh, and continue to read from start to finish. Woo for me.

I was linked http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=16 in an irc channel I visited because someone else had just started going through the comic archives and thought it was awesome. I don't really remember how far the comic itself was, but I think it was between 37 and 100. That's sort of a broad time period but that's the closest I can pinpoint it. I'm kicking myself for not joining the forums sooner.

I started at the beginning and never bothered to skip to the most recent comic.

When I first read the comic, it was last fall, and I got up to where Faye was explaining her daddy issues, and then I took a break because of school and such and then I read the rest the past weekend. Yes, I like this comic. Very much so. Moreso than... dare I say... Penny Arcade?

I started around comic 183. There was a week of guest comics at Diesel Sweeties, and Jeph's was the funniest.

I don't know what number, but I started with a recent one.  The one with Pintsize and the AnthroMac talking, and one of them wishes he could have babies, all while Pintsize is playing Matador with the Rumba or whatever they're called.  ^_^

After I saw that one I went back to comic one and have been working on reading them all since then.  I have awhile to go before I'm all caught up.  It's hard to keep up with which character is which sometimes, though, because the art style has changed and evolved so much since it started.  The first few changes were fairly drastic, and the rest are more subtle.
