Really cool old games that nobody remembers.

Narr:

RPG? Yep.  Platformer/dungeon explorer?  Yes.

Nodaisho:
I know of dragon view, I tried playing it once, but the copy didn't work. I heard it was good.

I loved that game about 8 years ago, I played it constantly, mostly the sims though, I kept getting stuck on the missions (couldn't get past the first one because I kept picking up the wrong crate for shipping). I was a real star wars nerd around then.

Thy Dungeonman:

SO addictive. As were most Nintendo 64 games.

Legend of Faerghail.

It is an RPG from 1990 that was along the same lines as the original Bard's Tale I and II, except a bit more complex and a bit better graphically.  Among the cool things were a rank-based fighting engine (ie: melee up front, ranged and magic up the back) and people could change where they were situated in mid-battle, battle animations (which were good for their time) and the ability to let the party simulate an attack round (which was especially helpful vs low-level enemies, as they'd just kill the fuck out of them).  There was also a rather large and wide array of spells in comparison to most games around at that time, as they kind of ripped off DnD a little, if I remember rightly.

Another especially interesting thing was that there were a number of different languages to learn.  If a character in your party knew enough of a monster's language they could talk to it and sometimes convince it to leave you alone.  This was especially true for wild animals, as they didn't really want to attack you, they just wanted you to go away.

Surgoshan:

This game is just fun.
