Honestly, I did the item-multiply glitch literally every time I played through Blue version. Which I think I will do again soon. Se no, I may just restart Gold.
But, does the Missingno glitch only happen if you actually catch it? I heard rumors that just seeing it would fuck with your save file, but it never did for me. I never did catch it, it was shit.

I caught it and it never screwed me over. It also evolved into a mew, which I thought was pretty rad. (That is, if I remember correctly, this was a while ago).
I'm gonna go home and look for my red, yellow, and silver version.

One of the inescapable effects of the glitch was that it would corrupt the images in your hall of fame galleries up to that point. Another effect was that I used it to get infinite key items...that I could now never deposit or get rid of...
Other than that, it seemed relatively harmless to me.

actually, if you put any "disposable" item in the number 6 slot of your pouch, it would multiply it exponentially, something along the lineds of one Masterball to 120 Masterballs.
