As it was my brithday on the 8th...

Genetically, there is a 78 percent I will develop some kind of cancer in my life, according to a rough estimate that my doctor, who was trained in genetics, ran.
Just thought I'd add some more cheer to this discussion.

I heard somewhere that one in three people get a form of cancer in their lifetime, but many recover so we're not as doomed as it seems.

Indeed, many recover - and I am cheerful about it, because I myself recovered 20 birthdays ago.
As it happens, I also work for a cancer research group.
