You people go to shows, right? What future shows are you excited about?

You know, while I'm sure all the pyrotechnics and the light show is cool, if your music isn't good enough to stand on its own without that, then you really aren't that much of a musician. If full load-in wasn't going to be possible, a real showman would have found a way to keep the necessary pieces and set up in a shorter time frame. If you're as good at your job as Kanye West seems to believe that he is, you'll make up for it as best you can and the audience will forgive you. What they won't forgive is a late performance that turns out to be too short followed by a lame excuse about how it's not your fault. The show must go on.

TheFuriousWombat:
In November I'm going to see Stars of the Lid and Hammock, two of the best ambient musical groups out there, play a show together at a very cool little venue in New York. SofL almost never play live shows so needless to say I'm incredibly excited.
I'm also very excited to see Library Tapes and Deaf Center in the same venue in late September. I'll be getting my ambient fix for sure.

Steel_Town_Erick:
I'm going to see Nightwish, Gogol Bordello and Opeth in New Orleans in the upcoming monhts.

Yes, each band is a different show.

Nightwish is just because I had a friend ask me to join her.  But the Bordello and Opeth?  Hell yes.

I'm also seeing MSI at a couple of a shows with a friend.  This is mainly for the roadtrip and time spent with some amigos, but I got to say, Jimmy's banter makes the show lively.

Nobody too underground, like the Test Tube Queers, but I'm sure the people I work with will give me funny looks when I mention the band names.

8/20/08 - Wichita Kansas - John Wiese <3 <3 <3 - Venue: TBA

so basically it is going to be in someone's basement.

Jughead5267:
Going to see Wilco at the Grand Opera House in Wilmington, DE on Sunday night.
Pretty intimate (relatively speaking) venue, about 1200 peeps, only about an hour away from my house.

Really looking forward to it, anybody have past experience with Wilco live shows?
