Fun Stuff > BAND
You people go to shows, right? What future shows are you excited about?
muffy:
TITUS ANDRONICUS.
It's about a month away, but still. Excitement can start early.

They're playing at my school in the Spring apparently. A poll was taken and I guess they won. Not an enormous fan but could be pretty fun.
Inlander:
Last night I went to a "little bands" night at the Melbourne Fringe Festival. Basically it was something of a homage to the little bands scene in Melbourne in the late seventies and early eighties, where there were a whole bunch of bands that would form for one gig, and then the bands would break up and form other one-gig bands with other people. So last night there were six bands each made up of three to four musicians from various established local bands, all playing their first and only gig together. They each played fifteen minute sets and some were better than others. I didn't stay for the last one because it was getting close to midnight and I had to catch the last tram home, but of the ones I saw the best by far was a four-piece who called themselves the Ray Davies. They'd written a bunch of fantastic songs which were basically the pure essence of rock 'n' roll: three minutes long, simple lyrics about going out and hooking up with girls, played with great enthusiasm. Oh and they were all wearing suits, which always helps if you're harking back to a fifties/sixties musical aesthetic.
Basically what I'm saying is I wish the Ray Davies were a real band instead of just a one-off because their set was the funnest fifteen minutes I've had at a gig for ages.

I saw Bowling For Soup tonight. That was pretty awesome.
And I'm seeing Feeder in 3 weeks.
That is my only contribution.
