You people go to shows, right? What future shows are you excited about?

Scandanavian War Machine:

--- Quote from: Catacombs on 09 Nov 2010, 19:57 ---Girl Talk is playing a show near me in February.  The last show I saw at that venue (the Wellmont Theater in Montclair NJ) was Modest Mouse and though it's a cool venue, the sound was awful.  He's also playing at the end of February in NYC at Terminal 5.  Should I bother going to either show?

I can't get that stoked on Girl Talk these days (though I was listening to him earlier today, go figure), but his live shows are something to behold. You should probably go.

When I saw him there were giant beachballs, confetti, streamers, and um...oh yeah...an inflatable whale the size of a school bus. It's a blast. That was at a big outdoors festival type deal though, so if it's a smaller place it probably won't get that crazy.

Still recommend it though, his mixes feel much less boring and souless live.

StaedlerMars:
Yeah, Girl Talk is a must see. A lot of fun.

Retrospectre:
Who would be more worth seeing these days; Wire or Gang Of Four?

Both are coming to town, playing the same venue and cost about the same.

StaedlerMars:
Wire

I saw Kayo Dot last night. Considering I adore pretty much all of Toby Driver's music, I expected to be impressed, but they just blew my fucking mind. Seeing them live brings a whole new context to their music, and if anything makes sense of it - the Coyote material, for one, was incomparably better in a live setting.

Seeing DJ Shadow tomorrow, as well. Really excited for that, since I've never seen him, and I hear this tour will be kind of like In Tune and On Time was.
