iPhone pictures of our recording setup yesterday. That overhead mic is secured to the stand with masking tape. Fear our lack of money and appropriate equipment.
The other guitarist's cat also managed to destroy half the inputs on his M-audio 410 by pulling it off the table. Ouch!

My recording setup is just mounting my omnidirectional mic on my camera tripod then hovering it over the drum kit.

In my mind, I saw a tripod just floating mid-air above a trap set, drawing frightened screeches from the drummer who thought only about having to fight it if it turns rogue.
