Is your drummer playing an electric kit? If he is, please inform him he is not a real drummer, and is in fact a horrible human being.

Dude his set is mic'd. I am pretty sure you do not mic an electric kit, since it would have an amp.
Plus those are some pretty metal looking cymbals if you ask me.

It's one of those highly portable kits that only has one head per drum (except the snare, which is a standard snare). I was amazed at the sound quality of that thing.
