Can someone explain why bruises in fleshy areas go yellow than fade, like they don't go brown purple blue black yellow like most bruises?

most of my bruises turn purple before they turn yellow regardless of where they are... but they turn yellow because of bilirubin, which is a breakdown product of hemoglobin.
